Some more of my favourite baby products!
Fisher-Price Kick & Play Piano Gym
This gym is excellent in developing a baby’s leg and arm muscles. The hanging toys are at the right height for all babies, the mirror provides a distraction and amusement for the baby and the piano at the bottom encourages babies to kick their legs and develop their leg muscles by letting them know when they kick a fun noise plays :). Ethan loves this! he actually rolled from stomach to back on this mat November 27th. The only downside of this product is that when a baby starts to roll over they keep rolling into the hard plastic pieces which is undoubtedly uncomfortable.
The famous Bumbo Chair. This chair is excellent for strengthening the back muscles of your, not ready to sit up by himself, baby. This product is to be utilized with parental supervision and is best once your child has at least 75% head control, personally I find the back comes up just high enough that if their heads when back too far it could cause them pain. Best way to use this chair is to recognize your baby’s cues. When they start to cry, they have had enough. Like any activity, when a baby cries it normally means they cannot focus any more on this task and want to try something different. The bumbo also comes with a tray attachment so you can introduce your baby to toys while they are on the bumbo and some even choose to start feeding while their baby is in the bumbo.
My Little Sungabunny Bouncer
This is just a little bouncer chair, now don’t be upset if your baby doesn’t like this chair, not all of them do, sometimes I have to beg Ethan not to cry in it. That’s besides the point. I like this chair because it provides a non-moving surface which has full body support, for a baby to sit in and enjoy their surroundings. Ethan will sit in his now and just start at the tv. I also love how this chair is soft, when I put ethan in it I almost get jealous because it just feels so comfortable.
Rhythm of the Reef Prop Pillow
I am finding this item particularly useful right now where Ethan is able to hold himself up on his forearms and hands. If your child can’t hold their head up off the play mat I do not suggest this because they will just slide off the pillow onto the mat. Ethan isn’t responding to the items on the pillow yet (not even 3 months old yet) but once he does I have a feeling this will be one of his favourites. This pillow just provides support for your growing baby as he develops the important arm and leg muscles needed in learning how to crawl.
Dear parents, get this item. It doesn’t have to be the ABC mat or anything like that, it could just be the coloured squares but it is a must. We purchased this mat when Ethan was 7 weeks old because we found that the piano play mat was not thick enough and when ethan would try to lift his head he would drop it back into, basically, the laminate flooring. But another good use for these is to save your flooring from all the toys yet to come. This is one of the best purchases I’ve made yet.
Bear Security Blanket\Taggies Lion Blanket
This blanket my mother found by accident at a store closing out sale, the inside is satin and the outside is a cuddle plush. The bear itself is a puppet so you can put your fingers inside and move the little arms and head :). Ethan loves the two different textures of this bear and sleeps with it in the night times and during naps.
I bought this blanket because of the tags. From everyone I know, children love to eat tags off of things for some strange reasons and this blanket allows them to do that without any risk of them hurting themselves or swallowing one of the tags. Outside of its bright colours, it’s actually a very soft and warm blanket, perfect size for the car seat.
